Progress continues
Hope continues to move steadily through production, with the machining phase now complete.
The components will now progress to surface preparation, for which there is presently a queue, before continuing through the remaining finishing processes. With machining now complete, the most time-intensive stage of production has been concluded, having accounted for the majority of the overall manufacturing time. Surface preparation and the subsequent finishing processes are comparatively shorter stages, and we therefore anticipate the remaining production to progress at a considerably faster pace.
At present, we anticipate fulfilment commencing towards the end of Q3. As always, this remains subject to production progressing as expected, and we will continue to share updates as Hope moves through its remaining manufacturing stages.
Emergence
We are pleased to introduce Luna.
Luna is a multi-purpose desk tray defined by subtle, intricate curves; it provides a practical place to organise screws whilst assembling or disassembling your keyboard enclosure. The three individual compartments have also been proportioned to accommodate artisan keycaps, whilst remaining equally suited to other small desk accessories and everyday items.
Luna will be offered in three variants: A96063 aluminium alloy in silver or black anodisation, each with a smooth, blasted finish, alongside a clear translucent polycarbonate variant sharing the same surface treatment. A custom-fit carry case will accompany each tray.
Production for Luna has already been fully funded, with fulfilment anticipated to commence in Q4 of this year.
Luna is available from today at an introductory pre-order price of USD 65, before increasing to USD 75 once in-stock inventory becomes available. Orders containing multiple trays will automatically receive ten per cent (10%) off each Luna purchased.
As with all of our releases, this is a small-batch product and will not be restocked once sold out.
A clearer vision
The response to Reign has continued to exceed our expectations. The number of submissions received through the interest check has far surpassed what we had anticipated, and we are sincerely grateful to everyone who has taken the time to contribute. The level of engagement has been both reassuring and deeply encouraging, reaffirming our belief that there remains an appreciation for ambitious, uncompromising designs within the custom mechanical keyboard space.
Beyond the encouragement it has provided, the interest check has also proven invaluable in shaping the direction of the project. We now have a far clearer understanding of the materials, finishes, colours, and specifications that the community values most, allowing us to refine the offering with greater confidence. Perhaps most encouraging of all has been the remarkable level of interest shown towards the more premium configurations. It is reassuring to see that there remains a genuine appetite for ambitious designs and uncompromising engineering.
Development has continued to progress steadily behind the scenes. The solder MX PCB design has now been finalised, with production samples ordered and expected to arrive during August. Alongside this, we intend to order a range of gasket materials during the coming month. Once both the PCBs and materials for the mounting system have arrived, we will be able to commence acoustic testing of Reign.
The group buy for Reign is currently planned to open in February 2027.
The plan
As FSR continues to grow, we have spent considerable time reflecting upon how we wish to operate in the years ahead. One principle will remain fundamental to the way we operate: we will never run three group buy funded projects concurrently. This principle applies solely to projects that rely upon customer funding to enter production and does not extend to pre-order or in-stock releases that have already been funded independently.
Whilst the group buy model has become commonplace within the mechanical keyboard community, it is, in essence, a form of crowdfunding. We do not believe it is appropriate to ask customers to commit to a new project before the previous two have reached fulfilment. Should a project require additional time in production, and consequently delay future releases, then so be it. We believe that honouring existing commitments and maintaining the trust of our customers must always take precedence over introducing the next project.
With this philosophy in mind, we have defined a long-term roadmap that we intend to follow over the coming years. Our objective is to introduce two projects annually.
This year has seen the introduction of Hope, our inaugural keyboard enclosure of the Forma collection, followed by Luna, our inaugural desk accessory. Looking ahead to next year, Reign is planned as the inaugural keyboard enclosure of the Aeternus collection, before being followed later in the year by an undisclosed project.
To provide greater consistency and predictability, we have elected to maintain the same release cadence each year, with releases scheduled for Q1 and Q4 respectively. Our Q1 releases will always comprise keyboard enclosures and, for the foreseeable future, will most likely be offered through the group buy model until we are in a position to manufacture them independently of customer funding. Our Q4 releases, by contrast, will most likely comprise smaller quantity projects such as desk accessories or very small-batch keyboard enclosures, at least for 2026 and 2027.
We hope this approach provides greater clarity for those who follow our work. By maintaining a consistent release cadence, customers will know when to expect new projects, have sufficient time to plan for upcoming releases should they wish to participate, and can do so with the confidence that our priority will always be to fulfil existing commitments before introducing the next project. We recognise that this approach may result in a slower release schedule than some may expect. However, we believe it represents the most responsible and sustainable way to grow FSR, ensuring that every project receives the time, attention, and resources it deserves before the next begins. In doing so, we hope to build not only exceptional products, but enduring confidence in the way we choose to operate.
